WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) today announced that Courtney Fry has been promoted to Director of Member Services.

“Courtney has been an important member of my team since first coming to the Majority Leader’s office over six years ago,” said Hoyer. “Courtney has held a number of positions in my office, including as Deputy Outreach Director and Member Services Advisor for the past two and a half years. In each of her roles she has excelled because of her hard work, good judgment, and political instinct.  She has earned the respect of the Members of the Democratic Caucus who have come to rely on her knowledge of the legislative process, the Democratic advocacy community, and her understanding of the diversity of each Member’s district. I am confident that she will excel in this new role and look forward to continuing to work with her to help advance the shared goals of our Caucus.”

As Director of Member Services, Courtney will serve as a liaison between Whip Hoyer and Members of the Caucus as well as helping Members find opportunities to succeed.

Courtney Fry has been a part of the Democratic Whip’s Member Services team since January 2011, where she has overseen Whip Hoyer’s outreach to groups within the Democratic Caucus as well as outside organizations.  She first came to Capitol Hill in January 2007 as a Staff Assistant in the Office of the Majority Leader and later served as Executive Assistant and Office Manager.  Prior to coming to Capitol Hill, Courtney worked for EMILY’s List.  She holds a B.A. in Government from American University.
