Republican Failures

Next week's Floor Schedule offers a perfect opportunity to highlight the Republicans' failed agenda once again.  They have failed to pass 12 of 13 appropriations bills by the start of the new fiscal year, which has real consequences for real people
Please see the attached document from the Office of the Democratic Whip which details the consequences of these failures for veterans, firefighters and others.
9-11 Intelligence Reform
House Republicans have arrogantly crafted a partisan intelligence reform bill at the risk of sinking this legislation critical to our nation's security.  The bipartisan 9-11 Commission "called on House leaders [Thursday] to drop controversial proposals regarding immigration and law enforcement power, saying they could sink Congress's efforts to revamp the nation's intelligence operations this fall." [Washington Post, 10/01/04]
Please see the attached document from the Office of the Democratic Leader detailing the differences between the House Republican bill and the 9-11 Commission report.
Also attached is an analysis by the Homeland Security Committee Democrats which reports that only 11 of the 9-11 Commission's Reports are implemented while 30 are incomplete or not implemented at all.
