Office of Rep. Takano Seeks Communications Director

The DC office of Congressman Mark Takano is seeking a creative and experienced individual to serve as Communications Director.

The primary responsibility of the position is to develop and implement a communications plan for the office including writing speeches and press releases, responding to press inquiries, preparing online content, and managing media events in both DC and California. We are an innovative office and we are looking for a candidate who can help us expand upon our previous comms success. Ideal candidates will be strong writers and original thinkers who work well in a collaborative environment. A deep understanding of digital media is expected, and Hill or political experience is preferred, but not required. We maintain a positive and supportive office culture that prioritizes creativity and teamwork, while encouraging professional growth (and training), as well as a positive work/life balance.

This is not an entry-level position.
