WASHINGTON, DC – House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today regarding the schedule of the U.S. House of Representatives:
“Following months of hearings, deliberation, and debate, the House passed the Affordable Health Care for America Act last week. As action on health insurance reform legislation moves to the Senate, the House is updating its schedule for November and December to reflect that, and to ensure there is time to complete our work on other important issues.
“For the rest of 2009, the House is expected to be in session the week of November 16th; the week of November 30th; the week of December 7th; and the week of December 14th. The House could also be in session on Monday, December 21st and Tuesday, December 22nd if needed.”
