WASHINGTON, DC – House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today regarding the schedule of the U.S. House of Representatives:
“After passing major legislation this year dealing with such critical challenges as economic recovery and making college more affordable, House Members will continue to work on important issues in Committee, on the Floor, and in their districts this Fall.  As we discuss health care reform in particular, Members value time in their Districts to work and meet with constituents.  With that in mind, the House will not be in session on Friday, October 2; Monday, October 5; Friday, October 9; and Monday, October 19, as originally announced.”
