As we take time during Hispanic Heritage Month to celebrate important contributions of the Latino community to our economy, House Democrats are highlighting Hispanic entrepreneurs across the country who are helping to drive our economic recovery:

Nancy Lilly is President and founder of JEM Engineering, a small business which designs and manufactures antennas for the communications industry. Nancy and her husband, launched JEM Engineering in 2001, and together they manage engineering, product development and R&D activities at JEM. Nancy is also responsible for the company's certification process, special clearance applications and all strategic and tactical marketing functions. Headquartered in Laurel, MD, the company designs, manufactures and tests antennas and associated electronics, and is dedicated to adapting and innovating to meet their customers’ needs.

Prior to founding JEM Engineering Nancy worked in a variety of engineering capacities – she was a manufacturing engineer for both Wang and Scope Laboratories of Northern VA, served as a quality assurance manager for Racal Avionics of Silver Spring, MD, a quality engineer for Arbitron of Columbia, MD, and more recently, was an examiner for the 2004 U.S. Senate Productivity & Maryland Quality Award for The University of Maryland Center for Quality & Productivity.
