WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement after President Obama announced his new Advanced Manufacturing Partnership Steering Committee today:
“The President’s announcement of a new Advanced Manufacturing Partnership Steering Committee, to continue the work begun with the launch of the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership two years ago, is a reminder that the Obama Administration remains focused on creating jobs and strengthening American manufacturing – and Congress should be as well. A strong manufacturing sector will be central to our nation’s long-term economic strength, and revitalizing our country’s manufacturing sector remains a key goal of House Democrats’ Make It In America plan for jobs and competitiveness.
“The President’s Advanced Manufacturing Partnership has already generated ideas that are helping to strengthen manufacturing development, including the National Network of Manufacturing Innovation Institutes now being established as public-private partnerships. I am glad the President is continuing to make manufacturing revitalization a top priority, and I look forward to working with the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership Steering Committee members to advance the goals of the Make It In America plan to set our nation on a solid path towards greater competitiveness, creating more jobs, and achieving long-term economic stability.”
