WASHINGTON, DC – House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement regarding the Floor schedule of the U.S. House of Representatives:
“Democrats have been focused on creating jobs and helping middle class families throughout this Congress, and when we return in November, we will continue our work.  Our top priority will be extending  middle class tax cuts, which have been held hostage by Republicans who want to give tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans that would add $700 billion to the deficit.
“As we work to ensure middle class families do not see a tax increase next year, the House is scheduled to be in session the entire week of November 15, from Monday through Friday.  The House is also scheduled to be in session from Monday, November 29, through Friday, December 3.
“When we return to session, I hope Republicans will stop holding middle class tax cuts hostage, and instead join us in preventing a tax increase on hard-working families.”
