**Members are advised that the House is only expecting one vote series today.

H.Res.  827 – Rule providing for consideration of Motions to Suspend the Rules (Rep. Sessions – Rules) (One Hour of Debate). H.Res. 827 provides suspension authority through Friday, December 28, 2012.  Under the Rules of the House, suspension authority is authorized during the last 6 days of a session, and therefore, this Rule provides for suspension authority for the rest of the 112th Congress.

As the House continues to consider bills under suspension of the Rules, the Republican leadership still will not consider H.R. 15, or any bill that would provide for a middle class tax cut. Instead, House Republicans continue to hold middle class tax cuts hostage in order to give tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans. Unless the House acts, taxes on middle class families and small businesses will go up on January 1. An increasing number of Republicans have agreed with Democrats that Congress should pass a bill to give those families and businesses certainty that they won’t see a tax increase at the beginning of the year. The U.S. Senate has already passed a bill to provide that tax relief. The House should allow for an up or down vote, so both parties can quickly pass a middle class tax cut before the Holiday season.

Suspensions (5 Bills)

  1. H.R. 6190 – Asthma Inhalers Relief Act of 2012 (Rep. Burgess – Energy and Commerce)
  2. H.R. 5817 – Eliminate Privacy Notice Confusion Act, as amended (Rep. Luetkemeyer – Financial Services)
  3. S. 3542 – No-Hassle Flying Act of 2012 (Sen. Klobuchar – Homeland Security)
  4. S. 1998 – DART Act, as amended (Sen. Brown (OH) – Homeland Security)
  5. H.R. 6364 – Frank Buckles World War I Memorial Act (Rep. Poe – Oversight and Government Reform)

Possible Motion to go to Conference on H.R. 4310 – National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2013 (Rep. McKeon – Armed Services) and Democratic Motion to Instruct Conferees

The GOP Leadership has announced the following schedule for Thursday, December 13: The House will meet at 9:00 a.m. for legislative business. The House is expected to consider bills under suspension of the Rules.

The Daily Quote
Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME): “Americans, she said, ‘should not even be questioning that we will ultimately raise taxes on low- to middle-income people.’ Congress could take that off the table ‘while you’re grappling with tax cuts for the wealthy.’”
