WASHINGTON, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD) announced today that they will bring The James Zadroga 9-11 Health and Compensation Act to the floor for a vote next week. This bill provides funding for a health initiative to monitor and treat responders and community residents for health conditions related to the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks and compensation for those physically injured by those attacks or by response activities and debris removal.
The leaders issued the following joint statement:
“Next week, we will bring The James Zadroga 9-11 Health and Compensation Act to the floor for a vote. It is our hope that we will have a strong, bipartisan vote to pass this critical legislation.
