It doesn’t look like that legislative strategy is going to work very well, Speaker Boehner. So far in the 113th Congress [2], four bills will have been signed into law:
1. S. 47 - Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act
YES VOTES: 199 Democrats, 87 Republicans
2. H.R. 152 – Disaster Relief Appropriations
YES VOTES: 192 Democrats, 49 Republicans
3. H.R. 325 – No Budget, No Pay
YES VOTES: 86 Democrats, 199 Republicans
4. H.R. 41 – To temporarily increase the borrowing authority of the Federal Emergency Management Agency for carrying out the National Flood Insurance Program
YES VOTES: 193 Democrats, 191 Republicans
On average, 168 Democrats voted YES on the bills that were signed into law, while only 124 Republicans voted for these bills.
Enough said.
