Well, I don't know if they have the votes because I’m not counting Republican votes, per se.
May 3, 2017
Republicans now control all the levers of our government.  They will be held responsible for whatever happens to our health care system, including the actions that have already destabilized our health insurance markets since January.

The decision today by Puerto Rico’s governor to seek a judicial reorganization of the island’s debts and put its finances on solid footing is the responsible thing to do.
May 3, 2017
Joe, you took the words out of my mouth. I don't think it's what the Democrats or Republicans want, the process won.

The bill House Republicans just passed would end overtime pay as American workers know it.

Today, House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) and Rep. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen has spent her more than three decades in public service working to build consensus and forge compromises that benefit Floridians and all Americans.
April 27, 2017
If Republicans announce their intention to bring their harmful TrumpCare bill to the House Floor tomorrow or Saturday, I will oppose a one-week Continuing Resolution and will advise House Democrats to oppose it as well.

“’Fool me once,’ the old adage says, and ‘shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.’
April 26, 2017
Now that their party controls the levers of government, Republicans will be held responsible for any changes to our health care system that take place on their watch.

I was proud to join my colleagues in cosponsoring this resolution.

Cost sharing reductions are and should continue to be permanent, mandatory funding. That is the law.
April 20, 2017
After having to withdraw their disastrous TrumpCare bill last month amid unprecedented public disapproval, President Trump and House Republican leaders should not make the same mistake again next week.
April 13, 2017
President Trump was right when he declared that 'the longer I'm behind this desk and you have Obamacare, the more I would own it.'
April 6, 2017
Today’s procedural changes by Senate Republicans imperils the future of the Senate as a deliberative body and risks eroding the constitutional framework that safeguards the rights and representation of the minority under our system of government.
April 6, 2017
I continue to be deeply disturbed by the baseless and irresponsible accusations leveled against former National Security Advisor Susan Rice by President Trump.
