WASHINGTON, DC - House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD) will join Sen. Benjamin L. Cardin, Rep. Alcee L. Hastings, and Sen. Sam Brownback at the Newseum on Wednesday, November 4th at 10:30 a.m. for a U.S. Helsinki Commission special event commemorating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

 

Twenty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, current and former leaders of the U.S. Helsinki Commission recall the progress made to free millions of people from behind the Iron Curtain and the work that remains to remove modern barriers to freedom in the U.S. and around the world that hinder religious freedom, stifle free expression, and muzzle the freedom of the press.
