Republican Groundhog Day

First week back from the 4th of July district work period, and what are Republicans doing?

Strengthening our military by working to stop the sequester-related furloughs.
Bringing forward jobs legislation.
Undoing the doubling of student loan interest rates.
Passing comprehensive immigration reform.
Reducing or eliminating environmental reviews, and giving mining companies control over the timing of permitting decisions, for virtually all types of mining operations on federal public lands.

So we’re set for a repeat of last year, when the Republican-led House voted on a virtually identical bill with the same name, by the same lead sponsor, during the same week.

This is a version of Groundhog Day that Americans don’t want to watch.
