“Hello. Three years ago, Congress enacted health care reform that provides important patient protections, ends discrimination against patients with pre-existing conditions, and will help millions of uninsured Americans afford coverage.

“The health insurance exchanges being set up in each state are an important part of health care reform. These exchanges will allow individuals and families to choose from the quality health insurance plans at competitive rates. The health insurance exchanges provide real choices and greater freedom for Americans to get the coverage they need.

“Open enrollment begins tomorrow, October 1st, and continues through the end of March next year. You can visit www.healthcare.gov to shop for coverage. If you sign up for a plan before December 15, your coverage will begin on January 1st.

“If you or members of your family are without insurance, or if your current plan’s premiums are too high, I encourage you to go to healthcare.gov today and find out how you can get quality, affordable coverage – and to see if you qualify for a tax credit to help reduce your costs.

“Ultimately, health care reform isn’t about politics or about policies. It’s about you - about you and your family. It’s about making sure that, in the greatest country on Earth, every American has access to the highest quality health care without having to worry about out-of-control costs or discrimination by insurance companies.

“I urge you to visit www.healthcare.gov now, to learn more about how you can get the quality care you and your family need. Thank you.”
