Hoyer Statement on Senate Action to Block Vitter-Bennett Census Amendment

 

“I stood with Members of the Tri-Caucus last month to register our strong opposition to the Vitter-Bennett amendment. This purely political provision would have come at a significant fiscal cost and put the accuracy of the 2010 count at great risk. I applaud the Senate in taking this action to reject this grossly irresponsible amendment.”
