WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today on the oral arguments before the Supreme Court in Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. v. Sebellius and Conestoga Wood Specialties Corp. v. Sebelius regarding the women's health coverage required by corporations under the Affordable Care Act:

“Today the Supreme Court heard arguments in a case that I hope will determine once and for all that a woman’s health care decisions are nobody’s business but her own.  Our Constitution protects every individual’s right to free exercise of religion, but it does not give corporations license to prevent women from seeking the full range of health care options available to them under our laws.  I will be closely monitoring the developments in this case, and I will continue to defend the right of every women in this country to make decisions about her own health care.”
