WASHINGTON, DC – House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after President-elect Obama announced that Alejandro Perez, currently Hoyer’s Floor Director, will serve as Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs for the U.S. House of Representatives:
“Alejandro has been a key part of my staff for over six years, providing critical guidance and advice to help set and implement the Democratic legislative agenda. President-elect Obama will be served well by Alejandro’s knowledge of House procedure, relationship with Members, and deep understanding of the issues confronting our nation. He has been a tremendous asset both to my office and the Democratic Caucus for ten years. I wish him the best as he begins his new role.”
