WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement after Speaker John Boehner announced his intention to nominate Ed Cassidy as the Chief Administrative Officer of the House of Representatives starting in January:

"I join in congratulating Ed Cassidy on his appointment as the House's new Chief Administrative Officer.  In the years I have known him, Ed has proven himself to be a dedicated and tireless steward of the House's operations, committed to the Members and staff who perform the people's work as well as to the thousands who visit the House every day.  I have the greatest confidence that Ed, like his predecessor Dan Strodel, will always put the interests of the institution first."
