WASHINGTON, DC - Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after the House passed The James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act. The bill now heads to the President for his signature:
Daniel Reilly, 202-225-3130
“I am very pleased that the House has passed The James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act and it will now head to the President’s desk. This important legislation will provide care and compensation to the first responders and community residents exposed to toxins related to the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks.
“The heroes of that day—the firefighters, police officers and other responders who came from across the country and rose to the occasion during one of America’s darkest days—deserve our full support and now I am pleased they will finally receive it. I want to thank the New York delegation for all of their hard work to get this bill passed.”
