The U.S.-Israel partnership is "unbreakable," a top Democrat said on the eve of Israel's Independence Day. "Israel, the only true democracy in the Middle East, shares the foundation of our own government: freedom of religion, free speech, basic human rights and the rule of law," House minority whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said in a statement released Monday. "Our partnership is unbreakable and we stand united against the scourge of terrorism."
