GOP Do-Nothing Congress Gives Itself A Pat On the Back
Republicans just released their first quarter legislative agenda, and a particular line caught our eye: “Have we made a difference since January of 2011? Certainly.”
What difference have they made? Let’s review:
- No comprehensive jobs plan
- Passed a budget that would end the Medicare guarantee and raise costs for seniors
- Took our country to the brink of a government shutdown
- Threatened to default on our nation’s obligations
- Voted to put insurance companies back in control of health care
- Walked away from meaningful deficit reduction
- Put middle class tax cuts at risk
- Wasted time on partisan bills that won’t be signed into law
Good job team.
