H.Res. 9 – Instructing certain committees to report legislation replacing the Affordable Care Act (Rep. Dreier - Rules) (1 hour of debate). The House passed the Rule providing for consideration of H.Res. 9 on January 7. The Rule allows one amendment, offered by Mr. Matheson of Utah. The Rule also provides for one motion to recommit, without instructions.
H.Res. 9 requires 4 house committees to report to the House legislation, proposing specified changes to replace the Affordable Care Act. Those committees are the Committee on Education and the Workforce; the Committee on Energy and Commerce; the Committee on the Judiciary; and the Committee on Ways and Means.
- Matheson Amendment (10 minutes of debate) – Would expand instructions to the committees of jurisdiction to include a permanent fix to the Medicare Physician payment formula, or Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR).
